Sarah Christianson, Percussion | Education Coordinator
As a performer, arts administrator, and music educator, Sarah Christianson plays a dynamic role in the music community of greater Chicago. She has played timpani with such orchestras as the Musicians of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Civic Orchestra of Chicago, Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra, South Bend Symphony Orchestra, West Michigan Symphony, Skokie Valley Symphony Orchestra, and Fox Valley Orchestra, among others. As a new music artist, she regularly performs with the Chicago Composers Orchestra and Noise Bias: an all-female contemporary ensemble. She has also collaborated with Chicago-based not-for-profit organization JUSTembrace in a number of musical performances and events.
Ms. Christianson serves on the administrative staff at Roosevelt University’s Chicago College of Performing Arts and works as a percussion instructor at The People’s Music School in addition to leading her own private studio. She received her Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees from DePaul University.
